COMPANY HISTORY - Admiral was founded as the Continental Radio &
Television Company in 1934. With good
products and affordable prices the company grew rapidly and ranked number 5 in sales in
1939. Quality control problems
and the inability to compete with Japanese television makers forced the company to close
it's doors in 1979.
MODEL 2635L - This radio isn't listed in my books but from
the model number it would be placed around 1959.
This is a "Beetle" plastic radio. Not as valuable as catalin yet, but it sure
looks great. The top is a little warped as the
picture shows. The colors are more vibrant than the picture captures.
