COMPANY HISTORY - The Emerson Radio and Phonograph Company was founded in 1923.  The company produced
low cost midget radios during the depression and geared thier pricing to lower income customers. Using this strategy they
became one of the leading radio producers.

MODEL 581A  - This great looking little radio was manufactured in 1949. It's nice to find an older radio with the original
rear cover in place, the filter capacitors in good order and a near perfect plastic case.   Bunis' book values this radio at
$35.00 to $45.00.

MODEL DR343 - This radio isn't listed in my books either but I suspect it was manufactured around 1940. This one
is an receives AM as well as Shortwave bands. My picure makes it look smaller than it its. It's about 12 inches wide. This
is another one of those good finds; perfect cabinet, back in tact, and works very well.
